iPhone and iPad Controller

Hi I am in the process of upgrading my music systems to Linn DS from an Knekt/ Apple Digital / Linn setup. As part of this process I bought a MajikDS-I and started to evaluate all the pieces of the puzzle. In doing so I found the usability on the Mac to be somewhat lacking (we were all using iTunes). We will all have our opinions on this - but my goal was simple - allow my kids and wife to be able to use it without any real assistance. As Cara 6 was also in Beta I found it frustrating there was no radio support and also I needed to be able to schedule playing of the radio (I have a Knekt system acting as radio alarm clocks).

So I started to develop an interim solution for the Mac, in doing so I found I could produce an iPhone and iPad app relatively easily from the same code. We have now been using this in anger for a couple of weeks and it occurred to me (prompted by my dealer) that others may benefit from this. So I have decided to make the s/w available to those that would like it.

I stress that it is BETA and may suffer all the incumbent issues of early code. It is NOT designed to be all things to all people and "techy power users" need not apply

However the rest of us that just want to enjoy the listening experience may find this useful. I have put a little web site together for downloads and notes. If you would like to try it please do. For the Mac you just need to be running 10.5 or above and can download it now. For the iPhone/iPodTouch and iPad you will need to provide your UDID (please contact me via the website). This s/w is Linn specific and is not designed to control other boxes, it has had limited exposure (my home and the dealers shop) so I fully expect issues with boxes it has not encountered yet.

The Mac version will always be free - so dont complain if it does not do everything - but at the same time I welcome feedback or improvements and or changes that everyone may benefit from. I currently use Twonky 5.1.3 for the Mac accessing my iTunes library (as this is our primary music library) - I also put together a little program to scan all the folders and place a album art file that Twonky can use - so the program can display all the album artwork.
