My name is Trevor, I started the Trevorchan project which was then renamed to kusaba. I am still in the business of writing imageboard scripts for different platforms.

If you are hooked on PHP, try TinyIB, which supports a MySQL, SQLite, or flat file database.

If you are more Python-oriented, look at PyIB, which utilizes Python's threading abilities for processing.
